Estate Grounds

Wroxall Abbey Estate is a jewel in the rural heart of Warwickshire, commanding unspoilt views over the natural countryside. The 27 acres present a scenic array of landscaped grounds, parkland, gardens and historic lakes, fed by natural streams.

There is a gradual transition of scenery

  • The formality of the sunken garden, with rose beds, large, shaped box trees, and carved stone balustrade
  • The open areas beyond, with rhododendron copses, lawned areas and historic trees and shrubbery are ideal for a stroll by the side of the original carp lake.
  • Or walk a little further around the old Abbey site, with massive, ancient Lebanon cedars and interesting features, but please take care through the arched Abbey ruins.
  • Continue onto the expansive flat playing fields (ideal for numerous activities) and visit Wroxall’s Highland cattle grazing here.
  • Divert and pass the much loved Mulberry tree, between the tall yew hedges, into Sir Christopher Wren’s serpentine Crinkly Crankly walled garden with its micro climate, espalier pear tree, sumptuous apple trees, lawns, plantings, statue and today the splendid grand marquee takes centre place.
