From Baddesley Clinton to Packwood, Upton and Canons Ashby, your autumnal trip to Warwickshire wouldn’t be complete without paying a visit to a National Trust property. Full of heritage and wildlife, these sites are the gem in Warwickshire’s crown. Perfect for casual strolls or plant spotting, you can enjoy the crisp air and the crunching leaves underfoot… Admission and membership prices vary, but you can be sure that whatever National Trust site you choose your support for such a worthwhile cause is invaluable. You are more than likely to spot some fascinating wildlife and beautiful foliage; think rare trees, annuals, impressive topiary, harvest trails and much more.
Discover the real Leamington Spa and find out more about the town’s first entrepreneurs, scheming emperors, impressive royal visits, revolutionary inventors and much more. Lasting approximately 90 minutes, you will walk between 3-4km through the town centre and surrounding area, learning all about the town from an expert local guide. Starting with facts and sights from the 1700s, your journey will bring you through time via the famous spa era right through to the present day. The tour costs £12 per person.
If you want to make the most of your visit to Warwickshire, then this free Wildlife Trust walk needs to be on your itinerary. Taking place weekly, these lunch time walks will be chaperoned and led by a member of staff at Brandon Marsh Nature Centre. Normal admission to Brandon Marsh applies, but as this site is the headquarters of the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, it is well worth the admission to explore the 220 acres of Reserve. You can only imagine how picturesque the land is during autumn! There’s plenty to see and do, so don’t forget your camera.
Warwick Castle is an impressive sight throughout the year, not to mention its beauty during autumn. The warm tones and autumnal shades teamed with the magic, mystery and history of the area make a visit during this season well worthwhile. Plan a day out in Warwickshire here and you will get to explore the ancient towers, taking in historic sights that only archer’s would have seen. If that doesn’t impress you or take you back in time, then there’s plenty of entertainment and education at every turn. When Halloween comes around, you can experience the haunted castle for yourself…
